Features:
Net Control 2 for Linux shares the most of the features available in the version for Windows.
Nevertheless, due to a difference with the Windows platform, absense of several Windows-specific features and tools, complexity of porting of some features to the Linux platform, the following features are unavailable currently in the teacher module for Linux:
- Multi-monitor support;
- Speech and Camera tool and related features;
- Supportive features of Broadcast Desktop: annotations on the screen, voice communication, area selection, broadcast to a browser;
- Co-Browse tool;
- Co-Play tool;
- Desktop recording and conversion of DRR records to the AVI format (DRR playback is available);
- NetDeploy tool;
- Features related to Windows Network Neighborhood and Active Directory;
The complete list of unsupported features you can find in the Release notes document specified above.
Important compatibility notes:
Ubuntu: the software is incompatible with Wayland. The software is designed for use only with X11 display server. Wayland does not provide currently a reliable way of capturing desktop in a documented way, therefore some important features like Broadcast Desktop do not work properly in Wayland. Please also note, Wayland is the default display server in Ubuntu since version 21.04, and in order to use the software in Ubuntu, you need to switch the operating system to X11 display server.
To switch Ubuntu to X11 instead of Wayland, please modify /etc/gdm3/custom.conf file and uncomment or change the line #WaylandEnable=false to WaylandEnable=false , save the file and restart the system.
For additional information regarding the specified modifications please refer the Release notes document
